Instrument Horn
Occupation K-12 Teacher, Pilot Grove C-4 School District
Music Background
A native of Independence, MO, Brandon has played the horn since the age of 12, and studied privately from age 13 to 25. After receiving many district and state level honors in high school, Brandon began his post-secondary education at Central Missouri State University (now the University of Central Missouri). During that time he served as principal chair horn in the University Wind Ensemble and Orchestra along with being marching horn section leader and later Drum Major for the Marching Mules. Brandon was a regular performer at afternoon and evening recitals during this time.
Brandon graduated in 2004 with his Bachelor of Music Education and began his teaching career in the Holden R-III Schools where he taught instrumental music in grades 6-12. Two years later he would leave to begin his Master's Degree again in Warrensburg. Life events have lead him from there to teaching in Marshall and now Pilot Grove. He currently resides in Columbia with his wife Ashley as she finishes her Ph.D. and the University of Missouri in the area of Psychology.
Brandon is always up for playing new things, regardless of what horn part it is. "I just play what is in front of me."
Reason for joining the band:
Some cool people came up to me at community band and asked if I wanted to check their group out. It ended up being a lot of fun.
